On June 2nd, 2024, Veronica discovered a cat who had been hit by a car and lying helplessly on the side of a busy road in Limassol. Tragically, this is the fate for many of the 2 million cats living on the streets in Cyprus. After rushing him to the vet, x-rays revealed six fractures that required multiple surgeries.
But Veronica’s dedication didn't stop at the vet’s office. Naming him Modestos, she took him home after the surgeries and nursed him at her home which she has turned into an animal shelter. Every step of his recovery was a testament to Veronica’s unwavering compassion and love for animals.
Today, Modestos walks again, a living symbol of hope, courage, and the power of love.
